So, its nearly the longest day and here at Velvet Fig we are half way through our cake year and well into planning the second half of 2018. To say it is going quickly is an understatement.
What have been up to so far I hear you wonder...well we have been making lots of wedding, birthday and celebration cakes. Highlights for us here include the staggeringly beautiful 5 tier christening cake for a high profile client in London, which took our cakes to the next level and the feedback was amazing. Also my own brothers beautiful May wedding in a glorious marquee setting with a stunning blue and white ruffled wedding cake. The working day for me now is based in my new studio space which is utterly enjoyable and makes work seem more organised and am also feeling more creative. This has meant that we have been running more experience days and workshops. These have been from small groups and individuals for cake decorating to our very popular experience days for upto 12 people. We are very excitied about our next one at the beginning of July which is Flower and Food Styling for summer parties, it has been very popular with just a few spaces left if you are interested.
Events have been the other area that have kept us busy. We were at Wotten House in May where I met the lovely Hand Picked for Dorking guys. There are some more events booked in and that are on my facebook page to so have a look.....
